Lunatic & Tide - Allison Orr

Allison is a queer artist working mostly with acrylic paint. Recently they began dabbling in more mixed media, incorporating sculpture, watercolour, ink, and acrylic pouring methods into their pieces. After spending a summer bicycling across Canada, living mostly in a tent, they feel a deep connection with the wilderness, and wish to highlight the importance of preserving the natural world with their artwork.

Also, living as a queer person, Allison feels compelled to share and highlight the ways queerness manifests in animal and plant life. Sometimes fantastical or surreal, their work always relies first on real wildlife references, which has created a following amongst biologists and ecologists of their work.
