Tyler Ball is an award winning painter and prize-winning illustrator whose self-taught journey has evolved into a multidisciplinary practice. Celebrated for his versatility, Tyler seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary techniques across a wide range of mediums. Proficient in both painting and graphic design, he brings vibrant ideas to life through illustrations, custom album covers, merchandise designs, and personal commissions for companies and artists alike.

His creative range has also led him to compete in the Art Battle city championships two years in a row, where his talent for speed painting displays not only technical mastery but also an ability to channel raw emotion under pressure. With a body of work that bridges imagination and innovation, Tyler continues to establish himself as a dynamic presence in the modern art world. The pieces shown in this exhibit are ones created on his journey of becoming a much more skilled artist, deepening his fundamentals of colour theory, lighting, composition, and abstract personal exploration.

"These Paintings were created during a transformative period in my life. Each piece was an experiment, a spontaneous act of creation that taught me something new about painting and about myself. Through making them, I began to understand my strengths and flaws as an artist, and how those imperfections shaped me into a more deliberate and authentic communicator. In a world increasingly defined by perfection and artificial intelligence, I find something profoundly human in these paintings. Their beauty lies in their imperfections, the unplanned moments and accidents that no machine could ever replicate. Each piece tells its own story, yet together, they reflect my perception of the world, what I see, feel, and strive to express. My piece Cottonmouth stands apart, rooted in my childhood struggle to communicate and make sense of the world around me. While the other paintings explore perception, self-awareness, and transformation.

They trace my personal evolution, a journey of learning to see things clearly, to let go of outdated views, and to step into the person I was becoming. The recurring eyes and metaphors of sight were my way of noticing deeper truths, always seeking something just beyond what could be seen. Looking back, I realize these paintings were more like visual journal entries, deep subconscious reflections of my inner search.
